GlideLock Assembly System — 2–3 Minute Cabinet Assembly

Your Garage Cabinets, Assembled in 2–3 Minutes Per Box. Seriously.

Most garage cabinets come with a bag of screws, a confusing instruction manual, and the assumption that you enjoy spending your Saturday with a drill. Klovo's patent-pending GlideLock system takes a different approach: slide the panels together, hear the GlideLock click, and you're done in about 2–3 minutes per cabinet. A full set assembles in less than 1 hour. Almost tool-free — just a screwdriver for 4 screws through the back panel runners. No wasted weekend.

The Problem: Traditional Cabinet Assembly Is Broken

If you've ever assembled RTA (ready-to-assemble) furniture, you know the drill — literally. Most garage cabinet systems require:

  • 20–40 screws per cabinet and a power drill to drive them
  • 30–60 minutes of assembly time per unit, often longer for first-timers
  • Multiple tools: drill, screwdriver, level, rubber mallet, Allen wrenches
  • Confusing instructions that assume you already know what a cam bolt is

Now multiply that by 6–10 cabinets for a full garage setup. You're looking at an entire weekend of assembly — assuming nothing goes wrong. And things do go wrong: screws strip, panels crack from over-tightening, doors hang crooked because alignment was off by a quarter inch.

For a typical two-car garage setup, the math looks like this:

  • Assembly time: 6–10 hours (a full Saturday)
  • Tool cost: $50–$200 if you don't already own them
  • Frustration level: high enough that many homeowners pay $300–$600 for professional installation

There had to be a better way. So we built one.

How GlideLock Works

Klovo's GlideLock is a patent-pending slide-and-lock mechanism built into every cabinet panel. The joints are precision-engineered at our factory in Georgia so that assembly is foolproof — no measuring, no alignment guesswork, no mechanical aptitude required.

Step 1: Unbox Your Klovo Cabinet

Every Klovo cabinet arrives pre-finished and pre-drilled with GlideLock rails already integrated into each panel. There's nothing to prep, nothing to sand, nothing to measure. Open the box and you're ready to go.

Step 2: Align the GlideLock Rails

Position the side panel against the top or bottom panel. The GlideLock rails are designed to only fit one way — you literally can't put them together wrong. The rails guide the panels into exact alignment automatically.

Step 3: Slide and Lock

Push the panels together along the GlideLock rails until you hear a firm click. That click is the spring-loaded locking mechanism engaging. The connection is now secure and load-bearing.

Step 4: Done

That's it. No tightening, no double-checking, no going back to adjust. The GlideLock mechanism ensures a perfect fit every time because the precision is built into the manufacturing, not left to the person assembling it.

Total time: about 2–3 minutes per cabinet. A full set assembles in less than 1 hour.

For a Full 8-Cabinet Garage Setup

  • Klovo: less than 1 hour total. Done before lunch.
  • Husky / Gladiator: 4–6 hours. That's most of your Saturday.
  • NewAge: 6–8 hours. Pack a lunch.
  • Custom install: 2–3 days. Plus you're paying a contractor $75–$150 / hour.

Why 2–3 Minute Assembly Matters More Than You Think

It's not just about saving time.

  • Almost no special tools required. Most RTA cabinet brands assume you own a power drill, multiple screwdriver heads, a level, and various wrenches. If you don't? That's $50–$200 in tools just to assemble your cabinets. Klovo requires almost no tools — just 4 screws to secure the back panel. Your hands do the rest.
  • No expertise required. We've watched people assemble their first Klovo cabinet in 2–3 minutes — grandparents, teenagers, people who describe themselves as "not handy." GlideLock doesn't require expertise because the precision is in the engineering, not in the assembler's hands.
  • No alignment errors. When you're hand-driving 40 screws into a cabinet, even a small miscalculation compounds. Doors hang crooked. Drawers stick. Panels gap. GlideLock eliminates this entirely — the rails guide everything into exact position.
  • No stripped screws or cracked panels. Over-tightening screws is one of the most common RTA assembly failures. Since GlideLock uses almost no screws for the main assembly, this entire category of failure doesn't exist.
  • Relocatable. Moving? Renovating? GlideLock cabinets can be disassembled cleanly and reassembled in your new space.

The Engineering Behind GlideLock

GlideLock isn't a gimmick — it's a patent-pending mechanical system developed at Klovo's facility in Georgia, USA.

  • Precision-machined interlocking rails are CNC-cut into every panel during manufacturing.
  • Spring-loaded locking pins engage automatically when the panels are fully seated. These pins create a permanent, load-bearing connection that holds 500 lbs per cabinet.
  • Engineered wood construction with kitchen-grade TFL finish means the panels themselves are moisture-resistant and dimensionally stable.
  • 1 mm PVC edge-banding protects every exposed edge from moisture intrusion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is GlideLock really almost tool-free? Not even a rubber mallet?

Yes, almost tool-free (just 4 screws for the back panel). No drill, no screwdriver, no mallet, no level, no Allen wrenches. The GlideLock mechanism relies on sliding force and spring-loaded locking — both of which are done by hand.

How strong is a GlideLock connection compared to screws?

Every Klovo cabinet holds 500 lbs per cabinet — the same or better than most screw-assembled garage cabinets on the market.

Can I disassemble GlideLock cabinets if I move?

Yes. The GlideLock mechanism allows for clean disassembly and reassembly without any loss of structural integrity.

Does GlideLock work with all Klovo products?

Yes, GlideLock is standard across the entire Klovo cabinet line — from the 6-foot starter set ($1,052) to the 20-foot full-garage configuration ($7,216).

Is GlideLock patented?

The GlideLock system is patent-pending. It was designed and engineered entirely in-house at Klovo's facility in Georgia, USA.

What about soft-close hardware? Is that included?

Yes. Every Klovo cabinet comes with soft-close hinges and drawer slides pre-installed.
