they said looks.

  • Wood beat steel head-to-head. 50.2% chose the Klovo wood set over a comparable steel set, even priced $50 higher.
  • Women decide. Women chose the wood set at 57.3% against 44.4% of men, a statistically significant difference.
  • It is a life-stage purchase. 71% of furniture-look buyers have children under 18 at home. Above a $75K household income, income stops mattering.
Why now

The home is running
out of rooms.

~60%
of US homes have no basement
70%+
of newly built homes are constructed without one
2 in 3
homes and condos have a two-car garage
87%
will not buy garage cabinetry without seeing it in person

The square footage is already there. The garage is the largest project a homeowner can finish without a permit, a contractor, or financing.

Methodology

Where these numbers come from.

Study I: Emerging Use Cases of the Residential Garage, 2027–2030, independently researched and authored by The Business Research Company, delivered July 2026. Study II: Klovo primary consumer research, n=283 US garage-owning homeowners, household income $75K+, fielded July 2026 via a verified panel. Margin of error approximately ±5.8 points at 95% confidence. Market projection: Grand View Research, 2026. The two studies were conducted separately; where they agree we treat it as corroboration.
